The AGEG and AGEA sponsored the formation of the Australian Geothermal Code Committee, under to joint leadership of Dr Adrian Williams (Geodynamics) and Jim Lawless (SKM). The committee established a methodology for Public Reporting of the estimation, assessment and quantification of Geothermal Resources and Reserves that will promote transparency, consistency and confidence. The Australian Code for Reporting of Exploration Results, Geothermal Resources and Geothermal Reserves, The Geothermal Reporting Code (the “Geothermal Code” or “Code”) was launched in August 2008 at the AGEG and AGEA Australian Geothermal Energy Conference. The Code covers a minimum, mandatory set of requirements for the public reporting of Geothermal Resources and Reserves.
A companion document, the Geothermal Lexicon, provides guidance on how Geothermal Resources and Reserves can be estimated for reporting purposes.
The Australian Geothermal Code Committee, which is linked to the AGEG TIG 2, will manage changes to the Geothermal Reporting Code through a formal process and in consultation with key stakeholders.
